Introduced this week by F1 driver Jenson Button, The 2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider, the luxury convertible sports car that is the second model in the MP4-12C lineup. The global unveiling of the 2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider will take place in the U.S. on August 17 during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. McLaren said that its global dealers are taking orders for the car now. If you were lucky enough to attend the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, you undoubtedly saw the McLaren MP4-12C — it was the only one in North America at the time. Now, McLaren has literally taken the top off to create the MP4-12C Spider.
2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider Interior
Inside, an exclusive new interior trim has been developed for the 2013 model year 12C and new 12C Spider. High quality semi-aniline perforated leather and Alcantara may be selected in a variety of combinations to suit an owner’s personal taste. Two soft luggage bags are standard equipment on the 12C Spider. The cabin gets perforated leather trim. Paint finishes include Volcano Red and an optional Volcano Yellow. The convertible also gets a new wheel design.
2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider Engine
The 12C Spider is equipped with a 616-horsepower 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It has a top speed of 204 mph and sprints from zero to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds. The engine can be seen through a glass screen positioned behind the tonneau cover. The convertible has a retractable hardtop that can be operated at speeds of up to 19 mph. McLaren says it takes less than 17 seconds to lower the roof.

2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider Prices
2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider will start at $268,250 when it goes on sale in late December in the U.S. Pricing includes a $2,500 destination charge. The price does not include a gas-guzzler tax.
