News: 2013 Alfa Romeo MiTo SBK Special Series Reviews

2013 MiTo SBK Limited Edition  made only 200 units. Alfa Romeo has announced plans to introduce the MiTo SBK special edition at the Paris Motor Show. The aggressive look of the MiTo SBK Special Series is enhanced by four body colours – black, Alfa red, Tornado blue and Cristallo white – combined with three roof shades: black, Alfa red and the brand-new Cristallo white.  As features, in addition to a special color combination of red and blue, this model also comes with a roof and the mirrors are contrasting. a head of Paris Motor Show 2012, each manufacturer released flagship model pictures, which they will bring to the Paris Expo, 29 September to 14 October. They will host show off two special editions of the MiTo, to try to get some attention and push back the relentless onslaught of Citroen’s DS3 and the MINI.

2013 Alfa Romeo MiTo SBK Limited Edition designed to celebrate the company's involvement in the Superbike World Championship, the model is based on the Quadrifoglio Verde and features a two-tone exterior with 18-inch alloy wheels. The interior of the car is said to include numerous accessories such as Sabelt seats with a wraparound carbon fibre backrest, Alcantara center sections, and red stitching, leather trim of the gear lever knob and steering wheel, and a numbered plaque on the dashboard. The model also has aluminum pedals, dual-zone climate control and the Blue&Me connectivity system.

The peculiarities of this version include 16″ titanium alloy rims, chrome-plated spoiler and exhaust, mirror fairings in the shade of titanium, sporty rear bumper, black fog light frame and the new titanium “SBK” logo placed on the rear of the car.

2013 Maserati GranCabrio MC Upgrades Just 3 Models

Maserati has unveiled its newest model, Maserati unveiled the Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale at the Paris Auto Show back in 2010 and now. The car receives several upgrades including a lighter body, faster shifting, and tuned suspension, opening the door for something very special in their line-up.  Despite offering just three models, Maserati has been able to spin upwards of half a dozen different variants to sate its buyers. Next up, is the more performance-oriented GranCabrio MC convertible and makes its sales debut on the US market, it will be priced at about $150,000.

The Italian automaker has yet to reveal much detail about the new GranCabrio MC, but expect to see most of its content copied over from the coupe. Inspired and encouraged by the considerable success of the GranTurismo MC Stradale, Compared with the base GranCabrio and GranCabrio Sport, the MC is 1.9 inches longer and wears the more-aggressive front and rear fascias and more prominent rear spoiler from the GranTurismo MC.

European models will likely utilize a nifty six-speed sequential manual gearbox.

At least in coupe guise, the MC Stradale is also lighter (110kg or 242 pounds) than the "Sport" model and also features faster gear changes from the MC Race Shift electro-actuated transmission and more hardcore suspension settings.

Official: 2013 Toyota iQ EV City Car Review

The 2013 Toyota iQ EV has just been unveiled as the second all-electric vehicle in the brand’s lineup and debuting later this week at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The iQ city car is designed specifically designed to be used in an urban environment. Though looking almost the same as the standard iQ, the electric iQ is five inches longer and 125 kg (275 pounds) heavier. Now Toyota has officially revealed a plug-in all-electric variant – but it will not enter full production. Toyota decided to nix its widespread sales plan for the iQ EV based upon fears that it “misread the market” and that the current battery technology electric vehicles rely on is insufficient. Stuff like this enabled Toyota to use lower battery capacity for this car, which means shorter charging time.

Other technology features of the iQ EV are to be found inside the cabin. The Toyota iQ EV features an exclusive driver’s instrument binnacle with Optitron metres styled to resemble electrical componentry such as a generator turbine and printed circuitry. It incorporates a central speedometer with EV System Indicator-linked changing colour illumination, a 3.5″ TFT (Thin Film Transistor) multi-information display, a compact, high contrast LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and a plug-in indicator.

Power for the electric iQ is provided by a 47-kilowatt air-cooled electric motor that sources its energy from a lithium-ion battery pack, allowing for a total driving range of up to 52 miles. Despite its small size, the engine produces a healthy 120 lb-ft. of torque, allowing for a run from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 14 seconds and a top speed of 125 km/h (77 mph).

Toyota fitted it with a low power consumption heat pump air conditioning system, optimized seat heaters, as well as a new heated windscreen defroster that will help to keep the windshield fog free without the use of AC or heat.

The whole car utilizes a black-and-white color scheme inside and out and comes fitted with standard features like a smart entry & start system, a six-speaker audio system and hill start assist.

The iQ EV’s gate-type gear shift lever offers drivers three driving ranges: D-range controls the vehicle to consume the least amount of power during city driving; S-range increases acceleration performance for brisk driving; and B-range maximises regenerative braking to extend the vehicle’s driving range as far as possible.

Once its batteries run dry, the iQ EV can be fully recharged in 3 hours using a regular 230-volt outlet and up to 80 percent charge in 15 minutes when using a dedicated rapid charger.

2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium Dash

As 2013 Ford Fusions begin rolling into dealerships, the Detroit Free Press declared that the redesigned 2013 Fusion, which goes on sale this fall.  As with many recent Ford models, the Fusion traces its roots to Europe, riding on a heavily revised version of the previous Mondeo (Ford's midsize old world sedan) platform. Fusion Hybrid is also available in efficient and (Ford speaks for plug-in hybrid) Energy forms, and a choice between automatic and manually shifted six-speed transmissions. Ford promises that the chassis provides an ideal balance between ride comfort and agile handling. Adaptive cruise control is included with a pre-collision system and even a class-exclusive lane keeping feature. It’s hard not to be impressed when looking atthe display screen on the center stack or the dual LCDs bookending the central speedometer in the gauge cluster. It drips “perceived value” just like the aroma of freshly baked dough and cinnamon will get you standing in line at Cinnabon.

2013 Ford Fusion Engine

Three Four-Cylinder Engines, The Fusion joins a number of its competitors in eschewing a V6 powerplant in favor of an all-four-cylinder engine lineup in the interest of fuel economy. While the entry-level engine is a carryover 2.5-liter unit with 170 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, Ford expects most buyers will choose the optional 1.6-liter EcoBoost mill. This turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder produces 178 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.

Fuel economy is rated at 22/34 city/highway mpg for the 2.5-liter mill; 25/37 mpg and 23/36 mpg for the 1.6-liter unit with the manual and automatic gearboxes, respectively; and 22/33 mpg and 22/31 mpg for the 2.0-liter motor with FWD and RWD, respectively. 2013 Audi S3 Sportback Reviews at the 2012 Paris Auto Show

The 2013 Audi S3 delivers impressive performance. Following yesterday’s reveal of the A3 Sportback, The 2013 Audi S3 will join the Audi A3 Sportback at the 2012 Paris Auto Show, but it's still not clear whether the S3 will be coming to the U.S., Audi has never exported it to the U.S. Audi says the "S" stands for "sport and style". Visually, there is not much difference between the S3 and the A3 with the S Line package. Details include a revised front bumper, quad tailpipes and a roof spoiler. The Audi S3 comes standard with a manual six-speed transmission. The S3 is powered by a new 2.0 TFSI with turbocharging and gasoline direct injection. Customers will have the option of choosing between 14 exterior colors, two offered exclusively for the S3: Panther Black and Estoril Blue. And, there aren’t a lot of differences between the S3 and the A3 equipped with the S Line package as it features an S single-frame grille, a revised front bumper, LED DRLs, updated side skirts and aluminum-look mirror caps, along with quad tailpipes, roof spoiler and a different rear bumper that incorporates a diffuser. It has been fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/40-series tires.

2013 Smart Fortwo Iceshine limited Edition Available to U.S. and Europe Buyers

Called the Smart Fortwo Iceshine limited Edition 2013, Smart USA says the car will go on sale some time towards the end of Fall, with just 300 examples available to U.S. and Europe buyers. As things start to heat up this summer, Smart will stay cool with a new Fortwo model called the Iceshine Edition. Though small in size, Smart makes a big statement with its special-edition cars. This exciting special model can be preordered in white or exclusive azure blue from June, while the first vehicles in this limited series will be rolled out to dealers in October 2012, with production beginning in September, Prices start at €14,490. 

While European customers will be able to order the Fortwo Iceshine coupe and cabriolet in two colors, including azure blue, Americans will only get the all-white version with white wheels. The cockpit features black leather seats with white cross-stitching and white fabric backrests. Iceshine models also offer LED daytime running lamps, power steering and heated seats.

Styling is sleek and reminds many onlookers, that's not a bad thing for an unknown brand entering the luxury field. The 2012 Tesla Model S all-electric sport sedan went into production in June of 2012 as the first "mass-produced electric vehicle" from Silicon Valley startup Tesla Motors. According to the company, the 2012 Tesla Model S will have up to 300 miles of range, a 4900-pound curb weight, and expected acceleration to 60 mph of 5.6 seconds. Musk hopes to assemble the Model S at a rate of 20,000 per year. A Sport model is planned for after launch. Musk expects a $7500 federal tax credit on electric vehicles of a certain size will defray the price to $49,900. The 2012 Tesla Model S may just be the first electric car that's simultaneously good-looking, fully digital in the best tradition of Silicon Valley innovation.

Key elements of the five-door, five-passenger car’s design, which was completed by Mazda USA's former design director Franz Von Holzhausen, include a relatively slippery 0.26 coefficient of drag and an expansive hatchback big enough to swallow a mountain bike. A twin-screen computer display with web connectivity features prominently in the leather-and-wood-trimmed cabin.

Tuning: 2012 Mercedes SLS 63 AMG MC700 by McChip-DKR

The name of the project is MC700 and features only performance upgrade,  which is taking the Germna supercar to the gym in two different stages. The package uses the MC700 designation and straps a supercharger to the 6.2-liter V8, while also adding a Capristo exhaust system and a new ECU map. It is based over standart vesion of Mercedes-Benz SLS 63 AMG which has 571 HP at the stock engine. Two tuning packages are available:

The first adds a new mechanically driven compressor and a Capristo exhaust system along with the ECU upgrades, taking power up to 680hp and 770Nm of torque.

The second stage is for export markets and adds sports catalyzers and a ‘stage 4′ ECU tune. Stage 2 kits do not come with a TUV ceritifcate, however, they do feature a total horsepower figure of 706!

 For both “MC700” performance stages, mcchip-dkr requires a conversion period of five to seven working days. The price of the first “MC700” upgrade stage is €69,900  ($88,060) and the second is €78,999 ($99,520).

 Mcchip-dkr also offers export version of the kit. These don’t come with TUV approval, so they are less restrictive, allowing the powerplant to deliver even more muscle - 706 hp and 793 Nm (585 lb-ft).
